Born in Dublin, I studied Singing with Dr. Veronica Dunne and
Ms. Jenny Reddin at the DIT Conservatory of Music and the Leinster
School of Music/Griffith College. While a member of the RTE/National
Chamber Choir and Anúna, I performed extensively as soloist
throughout Ireland, Europe and the USA, giving my solo debut performance
at the National Concert Hall in 1993.
I worked as soloist and vocal coach in many children's music
workshops with the composer John Buckley and Pianist, Gillian
Smith, bringing classical music into the schools around the country,
in association with the Music Association of Ireland and the Arts
Council.
I also studied Drama with Bernadette Garvey gaining a Diploma
in Drama (Acting) from the Leinster School of Music.
I toured the world for seven years as the Goddess of Erin in
Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Feet Of Flames performing
to over 20 million people and featuring on CD's and DVD's of the
shows. Having recorded for TV, Movies and Soundtracks throughout
Europe, I released a solo album 'Celtic Goddess' in 2003 and signed
to CMR Records for Austral-Asia in 2005.
A graduate of UCD in Occupational Safety & Health and a
Chartered Safety Practitioner with IOSH, I specialise in providing
Health and Safety consultation to the Events, Construction and
Services sector including Childcare facilities. I hold a certificate
in First Aid and AED and I am a Manual Handling Instructor and
Assessor. Providing a safe and comfortable learning environment
is foremost in my mind!
But it was my love of music and children and the determination
to give my son the best possible start in life that led me to
the Kindermusik curricula, the only music and movement program
that is developmentally appropriate and child centred. I heard
about Kindermusik while touring in the USA and was determined
to become a licensed educator at the first opportunity.
'Kindermusik is the single best choice you can make for your
child. Your child will be able to meet and interact with other
children their own age. You will encourage them to socialise in
a group while bonding with them and having fun. They will also
develop a lifelong love of music as well as building self-esteem.
You will learn the foundations of learning which are the essential
tools for nurturing your child's development in the home and you
can find a class that suits your timetable.'
